II Tight (also stylized as 2 Tight) hail from Maysville, Alabama, bringing a brand of gangster rap rooted in the Deep South street experience. Their 1999 independent release Southern Ballers on II Tight/Worldwide Music features hard twisting G-Rap flows over tight G-Funk production, drawing comparisons to the rougher, rawer output of Rap-A-Lot's "Dirty" artists. Rhymes of struggle, pain, and hustle are delivered with an urgency that defined Deep South underground rap at the turn of the millennium. A regional collector's gem.
