Details
There's a reason Magic Lady keeps turning up in serious jazz and jazz-funk collections: Lonnie Liston Smith made it count in 1991. Lonnie Liston Smith Jr. is an American jazz, soul, and funk pianist and keyboardist who played with such jazz artists as Pharoah Sanders and Miles Davis before forming Lonnie Liston Smith and the Cosmic Echoes, recording a number of albums widely regarded as classics in the fusion, smooth jazz, and acid jazz genres.
It leans into soul in all the right places. Jacques Burvick and Angela Harris worked the boards, and you can hear the care in every track. An easy recommendation for anyone who loves jazz and jazz-funk.
