Details
This is the 1995 Island Records July solicitation cassette, a promo-only tape that went out to stores ahead of the month's releases, crossing dance-pop, hip-hop, rap, reggae and alternative. Swedish duo Yaki-Da's “I Saw You Dancing” and “Show Me Love,” Long Beach's Twinz with “2 Eyes 4 Heads” and “Round & Round,” and Kingston's Buju Banton with “Champion (Remix)” and “Wanna Be Loved” lead off. Jimmy Somerville, Axiom Funk's “Hideous Mutant Freekz” and the Postcards From America soundtrack follow. It's a rare mid-'90s industry piece.
