If R&B and funk-soul is your lane, Love Session from Silk (2001) belongs on your shelf. Silk is an American R&B group, formed in 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia. They are best known for their 1993 hit single, "Freak Me", which reached number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100. Love Session is the fourth studio album by American R&B group Silk. It was released by Elektra Records on June 12, 2001 in the United States. Chiefly produced by Darrell "Delite" Allamby and Silk, it reached number 20 on the US Billboard 200 and number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
It leans into hip-hop, rap and neo soul in all the right places. The guest list brings in Tamar. A keeper, plain and simple.
