Details
Storyville was an Austin, Texas blues-rock band formed in 1993 after a jam session at Antone's. Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon (the rhythm section of Stevie Ray Vaughan's Double Trouble) teamed up with Craig Ross, David Lee Holt and David Grissom, with Malford Milligan singing lead. Bluest Eyes (1993, November Records), produced by Stephen Bruton, was their debut, mixing blues, soul and rock. It includes “Bluest Eyes,” “Mercy Street” and Sam Cooke's “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
