Details
This is the 1995 Island Records October solicitation cassette, a promo-only tape for record stores, crossing hip-hop, rap, alternative rock and Britpop. Jersey City's P.M. Dawn bring “Downtown Venus” and “Fantasia's Confidential Ghetto,” and Phoenix's Meat Puppets bring “Scum” and “Eyeball.” Salt 'N' Pepa's “She Thing” and Patti Smith's “Don't Smoke In Bed” come from Ain't Nothin' But A She Thing. Menswear, Los Angeles' WC And The Maad Circle with “West Up!,” Erick Sermon, Capleton and Onyx follow. It's a rare mid-'90s industry piece.
