Phil Collins: But Seriously: CD

Condition: (See available options and pricing)

...But Seriously is Phil Collins' fourth studio album, released in 1989 and produced with Hugh Padgham. Moving beyond the dance-oriented approach of No Jacket Required, Collins brought social concerns into a program that also retained his reflective relationship songwriting. “Another Day In Paradise” addresses homelessness, while “Colours” condemns apartheid and “That's Just The Way It Is” examines conflict in Northern Ireland. The recording includes Eric Clapton's lead guitar on “I Wish It Would Rain Down” and David Crosby's backing vocals on “That's Just The Way It Is.” With “Do You Remember?” and “Something Happened On The Way To Heaven” also included, the album balances polished pop and soul-influenced arrangements with more serious lyrical themes. This CD's listed program includes “Heat On The Street” and the instrumental “Saturday Night And Sunday Morning.”
