Philip Bailey's self-titled 1994 album pairs the Earth, Wind & Fire vocalist's distinctive voice with contemporary R&B and pop-soul production. Released by Zoo Entertainment, the album features production contributions from Brian McKnight, Chuckii Booker, Robert Brookins, P.M. Dawn, and Wayman Tisdale, bringing several approaches to its romance-centered repertoire. McKnight produced selections including “Here With Me” and “I'm Ready,” while P.M. Dawn produced “A Diamond Just Like You” and “I Won't Open My Arms.” “Here With Me” reached the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart, and songs such as “Just Like Summer” and “Love Me Tonight” place Bailey's expressive singing at the center of this chapter of his solo career.
