Platinum Jive came out in 1994 as a jazz and rock album from Big Chief, and it's aged better than most. Big Chief is an American indie / alternative rock band formed in 1989 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and disbanded in 1996. Platinum Jive is an album by the American band Big Chief, released in 1994. Subtitled "(Greatest Hits 1969-1999)", the band presented it as a greatest hits collection, although it is made up entirely of original songs. Released by Capitol Records, Platinum Jive was the band's major label debut, and also their final album.
You'll hear plenty of funk-soul in the mix. With Andy Kravitz, Phil Nicolo and Big Chief behind the controls, the beats never let up. This one deserves a spot in the rotation.
