Physical / consignment distribution
Consignment: the act of consigning with the provision that payment is expected only on completed sales and that unsold items may be returned to the one consigning.
What we accept
All items from artists, labels and/or distributors only.
- CDs
- CD-Rs (professionally manufactured CD-Rs and artwork only)
- Vinyl LPs and singles
- Posters
- Magazines
- DVD / VHS / video
- Accessories
What we don't accept
- CD-Rs that are deemed homemade/DIY (do it yourself)
- Mix tape CDs
- Private/personal collections (however, we do buy used and new CDs from all sources)
No consignment will be accepted without a signed contract from the person or entity consigning the respective product(s). The sections below cover pricing, quantity, marketing and the consignment contracts.
Pricing
Pricing is very important. If our selling price is too high, your products won't sell. We don't recommend a price higher than $12.99 unless you already have significant commercial exposure. For new musical artists and groups, we recommend a price of $9.99 or less per CD for our customers.
Sales materials
Here's what we need to market your product (basic inventory and marketing for Mint Underground):
- Album information (see contract)
- 5 CD minimum and a 15 CD maximum, plus 1 free promotional copy of each CD title (must be a retail-ready, manufactured CD)
- Approval to create video samples, so prospective buyers can sample a few tracks from your album. These samples will be located at the bottom of each album listing.
- If you already have videos related to the album, please send us a copy. We will host it on our own website, YouTube, Facebook and other forums. If you don't have a physical copy of your video, contact the director of your video and request one.
Digital distribution
Mint Underground, located in Denver, CO, offers digital distribution. If you are an artist, group or label seeking digital distribution, we are now accepting submissions.
Please see our Digital Distribution Agreement contract. We can't help you reach your goals and fans without it being printed, signed and submitted. The agreement lists payout amounts, dates and timelines, and other relevant information.
