Psychologically Ultimate Seashore is the first volume in the Environments series, released on Atlantic Records (catalog 81764-2). Originally conceived by Irv Teibel in the late 1960s as a pioneering experiment in psychoacoustics and environmental sound recordings, the Environments series was among the first commercially released ambient recordings — predating Brian Eno's ambient work by nearly a decade. This 1987 CD reissue presents the iconic seashore recording that launched the series, a landmark in the history of ambient and relaxation audio.
