Details
Chicago-born guitarist Stanley Jordan turned heads in the '80s with his two-handed “touch technique,” tapping the fretboard like a piano keyboard. Bolero (1994, Arista) puts that singular sound to work on smooth jazz. Jordan produced it with Onaje Allan Gumbs, Robert Kahn and Robert Zantay, and the title piece is an ambitious take on Ravel.
