The LaFace vocal quartet A Few Good Men made their mark in 1995 with Take A Dip, a polished R&B album backed by an all-star production team including L.A. Reid, Babyface, Daryl Simmons, Tony Rich, and Dallas Austin. The album charted at No. 53 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, with "Have I Never" cracking the top-40 and "Tonite" coming close. The group had first appeared on the LaFace Family Christmas compilation in 1993 before releasing their debut single "A Thang For You" in 1994. Though largely forgotten today, Take A Dip holds up as a satisfying slice of mid-'90s mainstream R&B with sweet harmonies and club-ready production. A solid addition for collectors of the LaFace Records catalog.
