(Brothas Most Wanted) hail from the Montbello neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, and Spit N The Truth is their 1991 debut on Heartless Records — a cornerstone of the Denver underground rap scene. The album delivers hard G-Funk with samples from Ohio Players' "Funky Worm" on the standout track "Freaks & Hoes," sitting comfortably in the early 1990s gangster rap tradition. As a regional Colorado release with virtually no national distribution, original copies are exceptionally rare and highly prized by collectors of early West Coast-influenced Midwest rap.
