Allure's 1997 self-titled debut on Mariah Carey's Crave/Track Masters Records is a seriously underrated '90s R&B gem. The quartet's voices blend beautifully across a set of songs largely written by Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige, with Track Masters production anchoring the album in the era's smooth urban sound. Standouts include the silky "The Story," the seductive interlude "Come Into My House," and a cover of Full Force's "All Cried Out" featuring 112 that ranks among the best remakes of the decade. Guest appearances from Nas, LL Cool J, and Raekwon round out the project. Don't sleep on this one.
