Love For The Future is the 1992 debut album by singer Nona Gaye, released through Third Stone and Atlantic Records. Although she entered music with the unmistakable legacy of her father, Marvin Gaye, the album presents her as a young contemporary R&B and pop vocalist working within the sleek early-1990s studio sound. The 11-track program moves between upbeat material, romantic ballads, and polished crossover production, with “Natural Motion,” “I’m Overjoyed,” “Supernatural,” and the title-closing “Love Is All You Need For The Future” establishing the record’s forward-looking tone. Her interpretation of Prince’s “When You Were Mine” connects the project to Minneapolis pop and funk songwriting while giving the album a distinct reference point beyond the Motown lineage associated with her family name. This CD preserves Nona Gaye’s first full-length statement before her later acting work and musical collaborations brought her to a wider audience.
