“Ditty” introduced Paperboy to crossover audiences as the lead single from his debut album, The Nine Yards. Built around a sample of Zapp's “Doo Wa Ditty (Blow That Thing),” with an additional sample from James Brown's “Funky President (People It's Bad),” the song connects early-1990s rap with an established funk lineage. It reached No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1993, earned platinum certification, and received a 1994 Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance. This 1992 Next Plateau Records cassette single presents “Ditty” in Radio and Divine Street Mix versions, offering two treatments of Paperboy's breakthrough song in its period physical format.
