Details
Beyond The Groove is a 1991 advance cassette sampler from Antilles, Island Records' adventurous jazz arm, from a time when the label was mixing young players with veterans. It brings David Mann, Jeff Beal, Elements, Rob Prester, Jay Azzolina, Microgroove and Joey Navaro. London saxophonist Courtney Pine brings “Children Of The Ghetto,” and Philadelphia's Heath Brothers bring “Keep Love Alive.” It's polished, groove-minded early-'90s contemporary jazz.
