Details
It's hard to talk about Portrait without landing on Portrait (1992), an R&B and funk-soul album with plenty to say. Portrait is an American R&B and hip hop vocal quartet, consisting of members Michael Angelo Saulsberry, Irving Washington III, Eric Kirkland and Philip Johnson. The quartet group's music sound was influenced by the new jack swing style of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
It leans into hip-hop, rap and contemporary R&B in all the right places. Portrait, Dave Way and Michael Angelo Saulsberry handled production, with Carolyn Griffey, Dahji McBeth and E-Luv joining in on features. Copies like this don't stick around — make it yours.
